QUEST FOR GLORY III: WAGES OF WAR

WALKTHROUGH - FIGHTER (PART 2)

This walkthrough was written by Frodo for The Hero's Glory

TARNA - CONTINUED

After another peaceful night’s sleep, leave your room and go down to

the restaurant area.  Sit down on the empty cushion.  When the

Welcome Woman comes, use Talk Icon on yourself, and Order Meal.

After breakfast, stand up and leave the Welcome Inn.

Again, do whatever you like today.  When evening comes, make your

way to the empty bazaar in Tarna.  Meet up with the thief again.  Talk

to him about everything.  Now use Talk Icon on yourself, and Tell

About Mission then Tell About Rakeesh.  Give him a MEAT JERKY

RATION.  You’ve done what you can for the thief, so leave the empty

bazaar.

Enter the Welcome Inn and sit down on the empty cushion.  When

the Welcome Woman comes, use Talk Icon on yourself and Order

Meal.  After supper, stand up, and climb up the stairs to your room.

Click on the bed and Sleep Till Morning.

When morning arrives, leave your room and go down to restaurant

area.  Sit down on the empty cushion, and when the Welcome

Woman comes, Order Meal.  Now stand up and leave the Welcome

Inn.

Make your way to the stairs that lead out of Tarna, and SAVE YOUR

GAME HERE.  Head down the stairs, into the Wilderness.

WILDERNESS

Head right one screen, and make your way to Pool Of Peace, fighting

any monsters you come across.

POOL OF PEACE

Take a drink of water from the pool, and fill all your WATERSKINS

from the pool.  Check the time, and if it’s late, Sleep Till Morning.

The next morning, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE, then head out into the

Wilderness.

WILDERNESS

Go to the Simbani Village, fighting any monsters you come across.

SIMBANI VILLAGE

Make sure you have a DINOSAUR HORN at this point.  You’re going

to need it soon enough.  Now talk to the Village Elder, and work

through all the topics.  Now head down into the campfire area.

Walk up to the cage area.  If Uhura or Yesufu is guarding the Leopard

man, leave, and then come back.  If a random Simbani is guarding the

Leopardman, great.  Use a DISPEL POTION from Salim on the

Leopardman… and he transforms into a woman.  You can try and talk

to the Leopard woman if you like, but she won’t answer you.  Leave

the cage area for now.

Check the time.  When it’s evening, enter Uhura’s hut.  Talk to Uhura

and work through all the topics.  Now leave Uhura’s hut.

Go to your guest hut, and Sleep Till Morning, then leave the hut.

Enter Laibon’s hut, use Talk Icon on yourself, and Greet the Laibon.

Now talk to him, and work through all the topics.  When you ask

about the Bride Price, he tells you he has set the Price high, to deter

his son from marrying the Leopard Woman - the Bride Price is 1 FINE

ROBE, 1 FINE SPEAR, and 5 ZEBRA SKINS.  You should already have

these items from the bazaar in Tarna.  If not, go and buy them now,

then return here.  However, there is another condition.  Only Simbani

Warriors may pay the Bride Price, and you are not a Simbani Warrior.

To become a Simbani Warrior, you must first pass the Initiation Test.

And to enter the Initiation Test, you must give the Laibon a

DINOSAUR HORN.  If you don’t have the DINO HORN, you can get it

by going out into the Wilderness, killing a Dino, then taking it’s

HORN.  When you have the DINOSAUR HORN, return here.  You can

either Tell Laibon About Dinosaur, or the game will automatically

make you give the HORN to Laibon.  He declares that the Initiation

Test will take place tomorrow, and you will be competing against his

son, Yesufu.  You automatically go to your Guest Hut to rest up.

The next day, the Initiation Contest begins automatically, so as soon

as you can SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  You race with Yesufu to the

first Trial.

TRIAL 1:  At the twisted tree, the idea is to get the ring from the

rope.  Yesufu takes his turn, and then you take your turn.  Don’t copy

Yesufu.  Instead, take the VINE that’s hanging down to the left of the

tree, and tie it to the SPEAR.  Now throw the SPEAR at the ring.

Since you don’t have to climb down into the pit to retrieve the ring,

you have taken one less move than Yesufu, thus, you have won this

trial.  You and Yesufu race to the next event.  SAVE YOUR GAME

HERE.

TRIAL 2:  You must get the ring from the circle of thorns.  Yesufu

grabs a spear and starts jabbing away at the thorns.  You should

push the log over the thorns to make a gap.  Now click on the log to

climb through, and reach the ring.  You are declared Winner again.

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.

As you are racing back to the village, Yesufu stumbles on a hole in the

ground, and his leg becomes trapped.  Make sure you stop to help

him.  Yesufu wins this race.

TRIAL 3:  You have to compete with Yesufu to see who can throw a

spear better.  SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Throw 3 spears at a non-

moving target.  If you did well, SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  If not,

Restore your game and try again.  Now throw 3 spears at a moving

target.  When you have been declared Winner, SAVE YOUR GAME

HERE.

TRIAL 4:  The final trial - the Bridge Wrestling trial.  If you have your

Skill Level set to high, you’ll have to use all the tips Uhura gave you.  I

had my Skill Level set low, so this played out automatically.  Yesufu

was declared Winner of this trial.

The trials are over, and a ceremony takes place.  If you are declared

Winner of the trials, you may ask the Liabon for the DRUM OF

MAGIC.  If Yesufu is declared Winner, he asks Liabon for the DRUM

OF MAGIC, and then he gives it to you, since you helped him during

the trials, and since you are working for peace.  Aww, that’s nice of

him.

Go up to the cage area, talk to Yesufu, and work through all the

topics.  The Leopard Woman is not impressed at having either of you

as her husband.   Leave the cage area.

Enter Liabon’s hut again.  Use Talk Icon on yourself and Greet, Thank

Laibon, and Tell About Prisoner.  Now talk to him, and work through

all the topics.  If the topic of Marriage doesn’t show up, talk to him

again, and ask him about Marriage.  As long as you have the required

items, he will accept your Bridge Price, and declares the Leopard

Woman as your wife (does she not have any say in the matter???).

Leave the Liabon’s tent now.

Return to the cage area.  The Leopard Woman is your bride now, so

you should try and make friends with her.  Try and talk to her, but she

still won’t reply.  Oh dear, what are you going to do?  Give her STRING

OF BEADS to make her smile.  Give her WOODEN LEAPORD

CARVING.  And give her FINE DAGGER.  Finally, open her cage to set

her free and give her back her freedom.

Now this could be your chance to follow her back to her village, get

the Leopard People’s side of the story, and hopefully prevent this

whole war from taking place.  So head down to the campfire area,

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE, then head out into the Wilderness.

WILDERNESS

Head right into the next area of the map.  Walk around for a while,

stopping at various areas of the jungle, until you hear someone call

out to you.  Use Talk Icon on yourself, and then Call Out in return.  The

Leopard Woman you freed reveals herself, and introduces herself as

Johari.  Talk to her and work through all the topics.  Now use Talk

Icon on yourself and Make Friends then Tell About Drum.  When she

knows you have the DRUM OF MAGIC, she realises you want peace

as much as she does, so she agrees to take you to her village.

LEPORDMEN VILLAGE

When you reach her village, use Talk Icon on yourself, and Tell About

Romance, and then kiss her.  As soon as it gets dark, SAVE YOUR

GAME HERE.  Johari will take you to watch the Change Ritual - where

her people change from man to beast.  After the ritual, she’ll take you

to her father, who is Chief of this village.  Give him the DRUM OF

MAGIC, then talk to him and work through all the topics.  Now use

Talk Icon on yourself and Tell About Peace.  Since he has his DRUM

back, he willingly gives you the SPEAR OF DEATH.

You automatically return to the Simbani Village.

SIMBANI VILLAGE

Everyone, including Rakeesh, is gathered in the campfire area, and

you give the SPEAR OF DEATH back to the Laibon.  The Laibon now

agrees to a Peace Conference between his people and the

Leopardmen people.  Things are finally looking up!

Rakeesh takes you back to Tarna, via a magic portal.

TARNA

You’re in the Hall Of Judgement, where the Peace Conference is

taking place.  Things are going well… until Rakeesh gets a bad feeling

that something terrible is about to happen.  No sooner has he said

that, then the Leopardman Chief will attack the Simbani Laibon with

a spell, knocking him to the floor.  Yesufu, the Laibon’s son, retaliates

by  throwing his spear at the Leopardman Chief.  Only Rakeesh (he is

a Paladin, after all) sees the demon leave the Leopardman’s body.  So

demons ARE behind this feud!  Before things descend into total

chaos, Rakeesh tells you to leave Tarna, and find the demons, before

war is declared.

You’re now forced out into the Wilderness, unable to enter Tarna

again.  You’re not welcome in the Simbani Village either, now.

WILDERNESS

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Head right to the next screen, and make

your way to the Pool Of Peace.

POOL OF PEACE

It’s probably dark by now, so Sleep Till Morning.  In the morning, take

a drink from the Pool, and make sure all your WATERSKINS are full.

Now leave the Pool, and head back out to the Wilderness.

WILDERNESS

Walk right into the next screen.  Make your way to the Heart Of The

World.  Before you can reach the tree, little Manu will appear,

wanting to take you to his Monkey-Village.  Talk to him and ask him

about the Village.  Now use Talk Icon on yourself and Agree to go to

the Village with Manu.

MONKEY VILLAGE

When you are near his village, talk to Manu and work through all the

topics.  Now use Talk Icon on yourself and Talk About Swingline.

Okay, now you are up in the trees, which is Manu’s village.  And as

you’d expect, it’s rather small.  Talk to Manu and ask about every-

thing.  Now use Talk Icon on your-self and Tell About Lost City, then

Convince Manu to take you there, then Persuade Manu.  Finally,

despite his fear, he agrees to take you to the Lost City.

WATERFALL

Before you reach the Lost City, you have the slight problem of a

waterfall blocking your way.  How are you going to cross it?  The

monkeys can simply jump across, but you cannot.

Take one of the VINES that is hanging from the tree where you and

Manu are standing.  Now take another VINE.  You automatically tie

the VINES together to make a strong rope.  Now use Talk Icon on

yourself and Tell About Vine Rope.  Manu takes one end of the VINE,

jumps across the waterfall, and ties it securely to the other side,

creating a rope bridge.  Click on the rope bridge to cross over the

waterfall.

You and Manu will continue your journey to The Lost City.  Until you

come across the Demon Worm.

DEMON WORM

When the Demon Worm appears, attack it and kill it.  Now continue

to The Lost City.

LOST CITY

Finally you arrive at The Lost City.  SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Manu is

afraid, and wants to go back to the safety of his monkey-village.  But

you refuse to go back.  Talk to Manu and work through all the topics.

Use Talk Icon on yourself and Tell About Honour.  Now walk down

into the City.

When the apeman passes, look at door with the jackal man.  You get

a close-up view of the door.  Remembering what Manu said, place

FIRE OPAL in the eye, and the door will open.  Enter through the

door.

SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  There are 2 demons here, and one of

them is very eager for a fight.  Okay, let’s oblige him.  Approach the

demon and fight him.  After you defeat him, open the door he was

guarding, and walk on through.

You’re in another room now, and there’s a liontaur here.  Wait… this is

Reeshaka, Rakeesh’s daughter.  Unfortunately, Reeshaka is taken

over by a demon at this point.  Any harm you do to the demon, will

harm Reeshaka, so DON’T attack!  You should still have a DISPEL

POTION left, so use DISPEL POTION on the demon\Reeshaka.  It will

weaken her and knock her unconscious, but at least she’ll be free of

the demon.

All the friends you’ve made up until this point make an appearance,

thanks to a magic portal - Uhura, Rakeesh,  the thief, Johari, Yesufu,

even Manu.  Rakeesh is overjoyed to see his daughter again.  With 4

friends by your side, the ancient prophecy is fulfilled.

All of you walk into a twisted Hall Of Mirrors, and you’re each faced

with an evil version of yourselves, which you all must fight.  You have

no hope of defeating your evil counterpart, and when you are starting

to lose, the thief returns to take your place, so that you can face off

against the Demon Wizard.

You race up into the tower.  SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  The Demon

Wizard casts a spell, transforming a pillar into a gargoyle.  Fight the

gargoyle and defeat him.  SAVE YOUR GAME HERE.  Next, the

Demon Wizard will throw fireballs at you.  Push over the stone

gargoyle you have defeated to create a bridge, then cross over the

bridge.  When you are on the bridge, the Demon Wizard will cast

another spell, making the stone gargoyle grab your foot.  Throw the

SPEAR OF DEATH at the Demon Wizard to knock him through the

vortex.  The gargoyle releases his grip on you.  Now use your SHIELD

on the Gate Orb to close the vortex, sealing the Demon Wizard on the

other side.

You automatically head back down the stairs, to where your friends

are waiting for you.

Watch the final cutscene.  Congratulations, you have been a true

hero!  But just when you think all’s well that ends well… some

unknown dark magic takes a hold of you.  What could this mean?  All

will be revealed in the next game.
