PEASANT'S QUEST WALKTHROUGH

IN THE BEGINNING
​
Remember to SAVE your game often by typing SAVE.
​
You begin your adventures at the Mountain Pass, after having
discovered the burnt-out remains of your cottage. TALK KNIGHT to
explain your situation, and why you want revenge on Trogdor the
dragon. However, the knight only allows peasants to go up the
mountain, and you are clearly not a peasant. You don’t stink like a
peasant, you don’t dress like a peasant, and you’re not on fire like a
peasant. So you need to accomplish those 3 things, before you are
allowed access to the mountain.
​
It would be helpful to have a MAP, so you can find your way around
Peasantry, don’t you think? Well, there’s a MAP back at your cottage.
Walk left once, down twice (stay near top of this screen), left twice
(avoid Kerrek), and up once. Now you are back at your burned out
cottage. LOOK COTTAGE to discover a PIECE OF PAPER on the ground.
GET PAPER to discover it’s actually a MAP. From now on, you can type
MAP anytime, to see where you are.

​
STINK LIKE A PEASANT
​
Walk up and right, so you are at the Archery Range. Walk over to the
desk, and TALK MAN to hear the archer’s sorry tale. He obviously
misses his brother - maybe you could do something to help him. Take
note that you need to say HALDO to his brother, should you ever bump
into him.
​
Go down one screen, and GET PEBBLES from edge of the lake.
​
Head up twice to the well. LOOK WELL to see that something is
floating in the water. Try to TURN CRANK, but it won’t work. PUT
PEBBLES IN BUCKET to make the bucket sink down to the bottom of
the well, and then TURN CRANK to raise the bucket again. There’s a
MONSTER MASKUS in the bucket, and you automatically take the
MONSTER MASKUS. Note that the MASK could easily scare a horse.

Go left twice (avoid Kerrek), and LOOK HORSE. WEAR MASK to scare
the horse, and he’ll break through fence.
​
Walk left, through the newly-formed gap in the fence, to discover a
hidden glen. Try to TALK ARCHER, but he just ignores you. But he does
mention the name ‘Mendelev’. Hold on - isn’t that the archer you met a
while ago, at the Archery Range? Say HALDO, and the archer will leave
to find his brother. TAKE ARROW from the tree.
​
Walk right again, to leave the hidden glen. Now let’s go back to the
Archery Range. Head down once and right twice, and then TALK MAN.
The brothers will let you try your luck at archery, if you give them the
right item - which you don’t have yet. Damn!
​
Head down twice (avoid Kerrek) and right once, so you are at the
cottage. LOOK COTTAGE, and then OPEN DOOR to enter the cottage.
TALK WOMAN, and listen to her tale. She needs your help! LOOK
SHELF, and then GET CHICKEN FEED. Now leave the cottage, and as
you are leaving, the woman tells you that her baby lost something in
the yard, and if you can find it, you can keep it. Now, notice the 4
bushes surrounding the cottage. Go to each of the bushes, and GET
BERRIES. The berries will just squish in your hand, but don’t worry
about it, because at the last bush, you find a SUPER TRINKET. Yippee!
​
Let’s head back to the Archery Range now. Walk left once (avoid
Kerrek), and then up twice. TALK MAN, and then GIVE SUPER
TRINKET. They tell you, you need 3 Bullseyes to win the SUPERTIME
FUNBOW. Now this bit is hard, so be patient. PLAY get a close-up of
the scene. Look at flag at the top-right, and pay attention to the wind
direction. Start by aiming your arrow at outer rim of the blue circle if
the flag is blowing directly left or right, and bring your arrow closer to
the centre according to the angle of the flag. Press SPACE to fire the
arrow, and try to match it with the red line on the indicator. Luckily,
you have infinite tries. Now you have a FUNBOW and an ARROW, you
are ready to kill Kerrek. So SAVE your game here.
​
Walk down twice, so you are at Kerrek’s field. If he is not here, simply
leave the screen and then return. SHOOT KERREK, and your arrow
lands straight through his heart. Nice shooting! It now starts pouring
with rain, to wash away Kerrek’s curse. LOOK KERREK, and then GET
BELT. You definitely stink like a peasant now.

DRESS LIKE A PEASANT
​
Walk left twice and up once, and see Jhonka with his treasure. This is
the same treasure the woman with the baby asked you to steal back
for her. Now you can’t steal it back now, or Jhonka will see you - you
have to be more stealthy.
​
Go right once and up twice, so you are at the Mud Puddle. The mud
was dry and cracked before, but the rain has softened it and made it…
muddy. Simply walk into the mud puddle to get covered in mud.
​
Now walk left to the Bale Of Hay, and HIDE in the hay. Go back down
to Jhonka’s cave. He doesn’t notice you, thanks to your ‘disguise’. Now
walk up to the pile of riches, and GET RICHES. You succeed in getting
them, but then the wind blows away your disguise, and Jhonka sees
you. But simply deny you took his riches by telling him NO. He believes
you, and will leave you alone (not very bright, is he?).
​
Okay, lets return this treasure to the woman. Head down once, and
right 3 times, so you are back at the cottage. OPEN DOOR to enter the
cottage, and GIVE RICHES to the woman. Hold on… what just happened? It seems you’ve been duped! That woman is a con-artist, wanted throughout the land. And you’ve been left with the BABY. Well
there’s nothing you can do about it now, so leave the cottage.

Head up once, to the lake. There’s a fisherman on a boat here. Try to
TALK MAN, but he just complains about his bait. GIVE CHICKEN
FEED, and then THROW CHICKEN FEED into the lake. It works - the
fisherman now has a whole load of fish, so he returns to his Inn.
Go right once, to the Inn. LOOK INN, and then OPEN DOOR to enter.
Once inside the inn, LOOK again, to see how run-down it is. LOOK
MAN, and GIVE BABY to man. He’s going to give his medication PILLS
to the baby, so you quickly snatch the PILLS away from him. You also take the BABY back. There’s nothing else you can do here, so leave the
Inn.
​
Walk down twice and left twice, so you are back at the Well. PUT BABY
IN BUCKET (you’re never going to win Father Of The Year, are you!), and
then TURN CRANK to raise the bucket again. Phew, the baby is
unharmed! And as a bonus, there is also a MEATBALL SUB (a
sandwich) in the bucket, which you automatically take. You auto-
matically take BABY back, as well.
​
Walk down twice, so you are at the lake. THROW BABY into the lake
(that poor baby!) - thankfully, the baby floats back to the edge, carrying
a BOTTLE OF SODA, which you automatically take.
​
Head down once and left twice. LOOK COTTAGE, and try to OPEN
DOOR, but there’s no doorknob. GET ROCK to reveal a small hole
leading into the cottage - but you’re too big to squeeze through. But
you DO have someone that’s small enough to fit through the hole.
That’s right - the baby. USE BABY, and the baby crawls through the
hole, opens the front door (how on earth did a tiny baby open the
door?), and then crawl away. Enter cottage, and OPEN DRAWER. GET
ROBE and WEAR ROBE. You’re now dressed like a peasant. Don’t
forget to CLOSE DRAWER, then leave the cottage.
 
 
 
BE ON FIRE LIKE A PEASANT
​
Now for your 3rd and final task, before you can take revenge on
Trogdor, the dragon that burned down your cottage.
​
Go right 4 times and up once, so you are back at the Inn. OPEN DOOR
to enter the Inn. TALK MAN, then GET A ROOM. You automatically lie
down on the bed… before waking up 20 minutes later. Note how the
pantry door is open, so LOOK PANTRY. Try to GET GREASE, but the pot
of grease spills all over you. With that pot on your head, you can’t see a
thing, but navigate your way out of the Inn.
​
Outside the Inn, you finally manage to get the pot off your head, but
your robe is still covered in grease. At least you can walk properly again!
It’s also dark now.
​
Walk down once, to the burned tree, and walk over to the lit lantern.
Thanks to the horse grease, you have now caught fire.
​
You have now completed all 3 tasks, making yourself a true peasant.
 
 
 
REVENGE ON TROGDOR
​
Walk up twice, so you are at the mountain pass, where you started your
adventure. TALK KNIGHT, and he lets you past.
​
Walk right, up the mountain pass - don’t worry about the Floppy Disk
Error message.
​
You’re now at the base of the cliff. SAVE your game here! Now CLIMB
the cliff, avoiding the rocks. Use UP arrow to climb up, and Left & Right
arrows to avoid the rocks. Keep going, until you reach the top.
​
At top of the cliff, you find yourself outside Trogdor’s cave. SAVE your
game here. You suddenly have a terrible feeling of danger. Enter the
cave, and start to walk right, but the First Keeper tells you, you cannot
defeat Trogdor without the TROG-SHIELD, TROG-HELMET, and
TROG-SWORD. And if you want to earn those items, you have to
answer 3 questions correctly. If you want to bypass the question,
simply GIVE PILLS, GIVE SODA, or GIVE SUB.
​

must answer 3 questions correctly. Just type A, B, or C to answer.

After you’ve answered the questions correctly, walk right through the
beaded curtain.
​
LOOK at your surroundings - wow, that dragon is absolutely HUGE!
USE SWORD to attack it. Now you’ve woken it up, TALK TROGDOR to
let him know you want revenge. He gloats the he is indestructible, and
nobody can defeat him.
​
Damn! After all your hard work, he just kills you anyway.
