KING'S QUEST VII: THE PRINCELESS BRIDE

WALKTHROUGH

​

This walkthrough was written by Frodo

for The Daventry Chronicles

 

 

 

CHAPTER 1: WHERE IN THE BLAZES AM I?

​

You begin your adventures as Queen Valanice, somewhere in the

desert.  A weird jackalope creature is dashing around.  Then, you rip

your dress on a sharp cactus.  Damn!  Get RIPPED PETTICOAT from

the cactus, and use it on the eye to get a better look at it.  You can

use the cursor to spin it around at view it from all angles.  When you

are ready, exit the close-up.  

​

Walk left, to the pool.  Look into the pool, to see a hidden room under

the water.  If only you could get down into that room.  Click on the

pool again, to realise it contains salt water, not fresh water.  Click on

branch next to the pool to get a STICK.  In your inventory, combine

STICK with RIPPED PETTICOAT to get a FLAG.  Now click on the

sparkles at front of the pool to get some SALT CRYSTALS.  There’s

also a statue here - click on base of the statue twice, to see a clue you

will need later on.  Exit the close-up.  You can’t do anything else with

the statue or pool right now, so we’ll come back here later.  

​

Walk up one screen, to see a giant face in the ground, along with some

footprints.  Click on the face and the footprints - you don’t get much

information about them.  

​

Walk right, and you will see water dripping onto sand.  Walk up into

the cave, and you’ll see 4 pots on a table.  Pick up the CLAY POTS.  

They will all break, except the last one.  Pick up BASKET from the

ground.  Click it on the eye the get a better view of it, then click on it to

open it.  Rotate it, until you see something glinting.  Click on the glint

to obtain a CORN KERNEL.  Exit the close-up.  Leave the cave.  Now

use CORN KERNEL on the wet sand, and a plant stalk will grow.  Get

EAR OF CORN from the plant stalk.  Now look at drawings on the rock

on the right - that‘s another clue for you.  When you exit the close-up,

the gourd on the left will have split open, so click on it to get GOURD

SEED.   

​

Walk down and left, so you are back at the pool.  Use CLAY POT on the

pool to get some SALT WATER.  Look again at symbols at base of the

statue, then exit the close-up.  Put your SALT WATER into the bowl

the statue is holding.  Use GOLDEN COMB on yourself twice, to make

yourself cry into the statue’s bowl.  Put EAR OF CORN on the statue’s

hand, and it will transform the salt water into fresh water.   Use your

CLAY POT on the statue’s bowl, to get some FRESH WATER.  

​

Walk down, and head right.  Continue right until you see the ghost, and

quickly talk to him - he will tell you he’s haunted by a great thirst,

before walking away.  Head right again, until you see him again, and

then quickly talk to him again.  This time, give him the FRESH WATER.

 He thanks you, and takes you to his remains - take the ROPE from his

skeleton.   

​

Walk up twice, so you are back where you started.  Walk right to the

temple entrance.  SAVE YOUR  GAME HERE.  

​

Enter the temple, and a giant scorpion will attack.  Use FLAG on the

scorpion - it will attack, and it’s tail will get stuck in the wall.  Click on

stone block at right side of the room to see a close-up of it.  Click on

the big rainbow icon in the centre, and a beam of light will appear.  

Now get RED CRYSTAL from the left, and use it in circle to the right of

the small statue.  Get BLUE CRYSTAL, and put it in the statue’s left

hand.  Get YELLOW CRYSTAL, and put it in the statue’s right hand.  A

secret hidey-hole will open up - get the TURQUOISE PIECE that is now

revealed.  Now exit the close-up and leave the temple.  

​

Walk up, to see 2 burrow holes.  Click on the burrow holes, and the

jackalope you saw earlier will ‘greet’ you.  There is a small door on the

right.  The sign above the door says ‘Rare Curiosities’.  Knock on the

door twice, and a short-sighted mole will answer.   He tells you the

jackalope stole his specs, and he can’t see without them.  Just at the

moment - the jackalope appears behind you, wearing the mole’s specs,

and he taunts you.  You’ve had enough of the jackalope’s rudeness!

 Walk down one screen, and then go left until you see 2 cactuses

standing next to each other.  Use MAGIC ROPE on cactus on the left to

create a trip-wire.  The jackalope will trip, and drop the GLASSES.

 Serves him right!  Get JACKALOPE HAIR from the cactus and get

GLASSES from the ground.  Go back up, and then right to the Rare

Curiosities Shop.  Knock on the ‘Rare Curiosities’ door, and give

GLASSES to the mole.  Also, give GOURD SEED to the mole, and he will

give you a TURQUOISE BEAD in return.  

​

Walk left, until you see the giant head, and footprints in the ground.

 Notice the bush with pink fruit here.  Use STICK on the pink fruit to

knock it down, then pick up PRICKLY PEAR from the ground.  

​

Walk down, so you are back at the pool.  Now remember those visual

clues you saw earlier on?  Click on the statue head, to make it become

a sunny head.  Click on the statue necklace to get a close-up, and make

the blue beads line up in the 3rd column.  Exit the close-up, and click

on lower-hand (on the left, look for the sparkly bit), and the statue

bowl will turn upside down, and the pool with drain.  

​

Climb down the steps into the now-drained pool.  There is another

statue down here - click on the statue bowl to get a close-up of the

bowl.  Click on it, to realise it’s an Offering Bowl.  Place your

TURQUOISE BEAD in the Offering Bowl, and the statue will nod.  Look

at Offering Bowl again to get another close-up of it, and take

TURQUOISE PIECE on the right (the V-shaped piece).  In your inventory,

combine both TURQUOISE PIECEs to make an arrow-shaped PUZZLE.  

​

Now climb back up the steps, and walk up one screen to the giant

head.  Look closely at top of mouth area \ door area in the giant head,

and click on the sparkly arrow indent to get a close-up.  Use the

turquoise arrow-shaped PUZZLE piece on the arrow indent, and a

door will open up.  Walk through the doorway to end the chapter.

CHAPTER 2:  A TROLL IS AS A TROLL DOES

​

You begin this chapter as Princess Rosella, in the troll-king’s castle.

 BUT… you have transformed into a troll yourself!  The horror of it all!

 Watch the cutscene as you are escorted to your chambers.  

​

Have a look around your bedroom if you like, but you can’t do anything

here at the moment.  When you are ready, leave the bedroom.  

​

Watch the cutscene with Matilda, the King’s assistant (ex-nursemaid).

Matilda can turn you back into a human, if you bring her some

ingredients - baked beetles, crystal dragon scale, a gold bowl, water of

emerald, a silver spoon.  Matilda also tells you that the King has been

acting strange lately.  Watch another cutscene with the troll-child

throwing down her toy rat in disgust.  

​

When both cutscenes are over, pick up the TOY RAT.  Sit on the throne,

for a bit of fun.  Get SHIELD from the wall next to the throne.  Click

SHIELD on the eye to get a close-up view of it, and click on the spike to

get SHIELD SPIKE.  Now exit the close-up.  

​

On the left of the screen, is a red Jacuzzi area - enter it.  When you

enter the Jacuzzi room, there are 2 trolls relaxing in the Jacuzzi.  Try to

talk to them, but they are both asleep.  Leave the area, and watch a

cutscene with the evil Malicia and the trolls.  Go back to the trolls and

 talk to them - they are terrified of Malicia.  Leave the area again.  

​

From the throne room, head through the upper-right exit, into the

kitchen.  Watch a cutscene with the chef.  When the chef sees you, he

will throw you out.  

​

Return to the kitchen through the upper-right exit.  Use TOY RAT on

the chef, and watch as he chases the TOY RAT around the kitchen,

then into the store room.  That’s got rid of the chef!  Have a look

around the kitchen.  Get BOWL from the shelves, and then click BOWL

on the eye for a close-up view.  Flip the BOWL over - if it says ‘Brass’ on

the bottom of it, put it back on the shelves, and get the other bowl.

 Now click this BOWL on the eye, and make sure it’s the GOLD BOWL.

 Now get the BAKED BEETLES from the brown vending machine

(between the shelves and the stew).  Leave the kitchen, and return to

the throne room.  

​

Take lower-left exit to the blacksmith’s shop.  Have a look around if

you like, and chat to the 2 trolls here.  That smithy-troll is really full of

himself, isn’t he?  When you are ready, head up through the doorway.  

​

This cave smells like rotten eggs.  Use your GOLD BOWL in the green

water, to get BOWL WITH GREEN WATER.  Get LANTERN from the

back shelf.  Now walk towards left side of the room.  See that stuff on

the wall?  Click on it, to realise it’s sulphur.  Walk down a little bit, to

the part of the screen that juts out to the left.  Now jump onto that

middle platform, then jump to the left ridge.  Click on the wall to get

WET SULPHUR.  Now jump back across the platform, and back to solid

ground.  Now leave the cave through doorway on the right.  

​

You are back with the 2 trolls now.  Notice the smithy-troll’s fire.  

When he uses his bellows on the fire, use LANTERN in the fire, to get

LANTERN WITH SPARK.  Continue right, back to the throne room.  

​

Go through the lower-right exit.  There is lava here, and some kind of

bucket-lift.  Try to cross the bridge, but a troll will jump up and block your way.  Talk to the troll, but he demands payment before he will let

you across.  Oh well!  Walk up to wooden cart at top-left of the screen.

 It has a wheel missing.  Use SHIELD on the cart, and then use SHIELD

SPIKE on cart, to hold the wheel in place.  Finally, ride the cart.

 Heeheehee, you knocked that mean troll from the bridge, right into

the lava!  Well done, you!  Now continue right across the bridge.  

​

Walk right through the crystal room, and right again to the dragon’s

den.  Isn’t the dragon magnificent!  Talk to the dragon to learn that the

poor thing has lost her spark, and thus has lost the will to live.  Give her

LANTERN WITH SPARK.  She can breathe fire again!  Her love for life

has returned, and she gives you a BIG GEM in return.  

​

Head left, and continue left, until you’re in the throne room again.  

Take upper-left exit, into the Jacuzzi area.  Two female trolls should be

here, discussing the merits of wet sulphur.  If not, leave, and then

return.  After the cutscene, talk to the female trolls.  Now go right,

back to the throne room.  

​

Take lower-left exit, so you are with the 2 worker trolls again.  Give

BIG GEM to the jeweller troll on the left - he gives you his HAMMER

AND CHISEL as a ‘thank you‘, and then leaves to buy a brand new

hammer and chisel for himself.  Now only the smithy troll remains.

 Throw your WET SULPHER on his fire, and it sends him to sleep (this

won’t work, until you have seen the 2 female trolls in the Jacuzzi

discussing wet sulphur).  Get TONGS that are hanging on the rack

above the fire, and use them to pick up HOT BOX on table behind the

sleeping troll.  Now dip HOT BOX into the bucket of cold water, and

open box to get SILVER SPOON.  Return TONGS to the rack.

​

Head right to leave the cave, and then continue right, back to where

you saw the crystal dragon.  The dragon has returned after a glorious

flight, and is now snoring away, fast asleep.  Use your HAMMER AND

CHISEL on the dragon’s tail, to get a DRAGON SCALE.  

​

Walk left, and continue left, to the throne room.  Talk to Matilda, and

tell her you have all the ingredients.  Give her the GOLD BOWL first,

and then give her SILVER SPOON, BAKED BEETLES, and DRAGON

SCALE.  Watch the cutscene, as Rosella drinks Matilda’s potion, and is

returned to human form… before Malicia locks her in her quarters.  

​

In the bedroom, you have to find a way to escape.  Look at painting of

the troll king on the wall, and notice smoke coming from his nostrils.

 Exit the close-up.  Take BROWN STOOL (next to the bed), and put it

on floor under the king’s painting.  Take GREEN STOOL (next to

mirror), and put it on top of the BROWN STOOL.  Take BLUE STOOL

(front-right of screen), and put it on top of the GREEN STOOL.  Now

you can climb up through the vent, and escape.  Watch a very strange

scene with evil Malicia and the troll king.  Is Malicia controlling the

king somehow?  

​

You find yourself back in the throne room, but Matilda is not here

anymore.  Pick up DRAGON TOAD from the throne.  Try to take the left

exit back to your bedroom, and overhear Matilda talking to Malicia.

 Something VERY strange is going on here!  Matilda returns, and sits

down in her chair.  Talk to Matilda, and show her the DRAGON TOAD.

 Watch another cutscene.  Hmm, so apparently, the REAL troll king is

being held prisoner somewhere, and the troll king that Rosella met, is

an impostor.  Matilda gives you an ENCHANTED ROPE.  When Malicia

appears, use TOY RAT on her, and she leaves.  

​

Go through lower-right exit, back to the troll bridge.  Use ENCHANTED

ROPE on the bucket-lift to secure it, then ride the bucket up to the

next level.  

 

 

 


CHAPTER 3:  THE SKY IS FALLING

​

You’re playing as Valanice again.  You’re trapped in a tunnel, with a

giant lizard blocking your path.  Give PRICKLY PEAR to the giant lizard,

and he slithers away.  Now walk forward, and leave the tunnel.  

​

You are in a beautiful garden.  Look at broken bridge, look at giant

statues, and look at flowers on the left.  Walk left to the next screen.  

​

Watch the cutscene with Attis, the sad stag.  Talk to Attis twice, and

he tells you about the curse that has befallen him and his wife.  Click

on the tree, to talk to Lady Ceris.  Now walk left again.  

​

There are several trees here, but nothing you can do at the moment.

Walk up to next screen.  

​

There is a spider web here, and a river.  Use the stones on the river as

stepping stones to jump across.  Now you have reached that nasty

spider web.  The spider is venomous, so don’t touch it with your hands.

 Use BASKET on the spider to capture it, then free the bird from the spider web.  Walk up into the cave.  

​

There’s a huge pink gate in front of you.  Watch the short cutscene.

 Have a look around if you want, and when you’re ready, enter through

through the small door, to enter the town.  

​

You’re in the town of Falderal now, and Arch Duke Fifi greets you.  

Show the GOLDEN COMB to Fifi, and he takes pity on you and gives you

permission to explore the town.  

​

Enter the China Shop (pink door), and talk to Fernando the bull (a bull

in a china shop, heehee).  He tells you he’s lost his china bird, Treasure,

and he is very depressed about it.  Have a look round the shop, making

sure to look at Treasure’s cage on the left, and the pink mask on the

right.  When you’re ready, leave the shop.  A chick is running around,

full of panic that the sky is falling.  Talk to her, and she tells you about

the curse from the evil fairy.  

​

Walk right, and talk to merchant in the sales caravan.  Remove cover

from cage on the right, and then open cage to get TREASURE, the

china bird.   Go left again. 

​

Enter China Shop (pink door), and give TREASURE to Fernando.  

Fernando is overjoyed to have his little buddy back again, and gives

you a MASK.  Leave the shop.  

​

Visitors start entering the Town Hall. Wear your MASK, then knock on

Town House door to enter.  The MASK prevents you from being

identified,  Head up through the door with the red stripe, and a very

Escher- type room with lots and lots of stairs.  SAVE YOUR GAME

HERE.  

​

Walk down stairs on the right, and then follow the stairs until you

arrive at door on the far-right.  Try to open the door, but a puff of

smoke will stop you.  Try to open door again, and this time, you can

enter the room.  SAVE YOUR GAME HERE, then walk through into the

Hall Of Mirrors.  Have a loot at all the mirrors, but walk through 4th

mirror on the back wall, to enter the Study.  

​

Look at the painting of Arch Duke Fifi above the fireplace.  Open

drawer at end of the desk, and then take MAGIC STATUETTE.   Enter

through door on the right, to return to the Stair-room.  

​

Follow all the stairs again, until you reach the main staircase, then

head down to the ‘crowded room’.  Walk right, to leave the Mayor’s office.  

​

Head right, and get told once again that ‘The Sky Is Falling’… then

watch as the big cheese (the moon?) falls into the pool.  Notice the

crow’s nest in tree on the left - search nest to find WOODEN NICKEL,

which you automatically take.  Use SALT CRYSTALS on Valanice

​

Eat the Salt Crystals, and then walk through the purple door, into the

shop.  Have look around the shop.  Everything in the shop seems to be

fake.  Even the shop owner is a ‘Mock’ turtle!  Look at the display of

books on the counter - the price for a book is 1 WOODEN NICKEL.  Give

WOODEN NICKEL to the Mock Turtle, and get a BOOK in return.  Give

MASK to the shop owner, and get RUBBER CHICKEN in return.  Click

RUBBER CHICKEN on the eye to get a better look, then take FEATHER

from the RUBBER CHICKEN.  Exit the close-up.  Leave the shop when

you are ready.  

​

Head left, and go through gate to leave the town.  Now go right 3

times, until you reach the giant snoring boulder.  Use FEATHER on

boulder to tickle him, and wake him up.  He sneezes, and blows your

FEATHER away.  He tells you, you must make the river flow again.

 Hmmm, easier said than done.  

​

Walk left twice, and down once, and you find yourself back at the river

crossing.  Use stones as stepping stones to cross the river, then

continue down.  

​

Head down once, and right twice, back to the Broken Bridge.  Talk to

the humming bird in flowers at top left.  This is the bird you rescued

from the spider earlier.  She offers you some of nectar, so show her

your CLAY POT to get NECTAR IN POT.  Now use NECTAR IN POT on

statue with the vase, and this will make the river flow again.  Watch

the cutscene as lord Attis is saved from the curse.  However, he is still

trying to rescue his Lady Cerris.  

​

Head right, and down, so you are in the tunnel where you started this

chapter.  Walk down again, and then go right to the Rare Curiosities

shop.  Knock on door, and give the mole your BOOK - he gives you a

shepherd’s CROOK in return.  

​

Go left, then up through the head, into the tunnel.  Walk up, to enter

the beautiful garden again.  This time, walk over the rainbow bridge,

and continue up to the snoring boulder.  Now go Left twice, and Up

again.  You have arrived back at the pink gate into town.  

​

Open the smaller gate, and enter town of Falderal.  Walk right, to the

pond with cheese (moon?) in it, and use your shepherds CROOK to

reach the cheese.  Watch a cutscene to end the chapter.  

 

 

 


CHAPTER 4: WILL THE REAL TROLL KING PLEASE STAND UP

​

You’re playing at Rosella again.  Grab the Gravedigger’s SPADE to pull

yourself up.  Talk to the Gravedigger.  Talk to him again, and keep

talking until he tells you that he has lost the power source for his

grave-digging machine - a specially trained rat!  

​

Walk left to the ruined house, and look at the silhouettes on the wall

(skull, bat, and spider).  Exit the close-up.  Walk left a little bit more,

and a silhouette of a dog will appear, and bark at you.  

​

Walk down to the next screen, and see a woman in black, weeping over

a grave.  Poor woman.  Talk to her if you want, but she will scare you to

death… literally!  

​

Walk right to the haunted house.  Look at who owns the house - Dr

Cadaver.  Very appropriate name, hehe.  Knock on door, and enter the

house.  Dr Cadaver is an unusual doctor… and he has no backbone!  He

gave it away to one of his patients!  Talk to him some more, until he

won’t talk you again.  Take a look around the room, and when you are

ready, leave the haunted house.  

​

Back outside the haunted house, go right to the next screen.  There’s a

pumpkin house here, and one of the ghoul kids climbs up to it.  Don’t

attempt to climb up the spider web, cos you’ll just get killed.  If the

bucket-lift is here, use that to get up into the pumpkin house.  If the

lift isn’t’ here, leave the screen, and return (it may take a few

attempts, before the lift appears).  

​

In the pumpkin house, there is a pile of… something, next to the lift.

 Pick it up, to discover it is a BACKBONE.  Now, who do you know that

could benefit from this?  Now, take FOOT IN A BAG, from the small

coffin.  Have a look around the room if you want, and when you’re

ready, leave the pumpkin house.  

​

Walk left again, and enter the Haunted House.  Give BACKBONE to Dr

Cadaver.  My, isn’t he tall now!  He gives you a WEIRD PET, to say

‘Thankyou’.  Leave the haunted house.  

​

Walk right again, back to the pumpkin house.  The 2 ghoul kids are

here.  Take note of the rhyme they are singing.  Show them your

WEIRD PET.  They lower the bucket-lift, and ask you to come up.  Don’t

go up the lift, just put WEIRD PET into the left.  The ghoul kids have

fun playing with it, and after a while, throw the GRAVEDIGGER’S RAT

to you.  

​

Head up one screen, and give GRAVEDIGGER’S RAT to the grave-

digger.  The gravedigger is very grateful, and gives you GRAVE-

DIGGER’S HORN as a reward.  If you blow that horn, the gravedigger

will hear it, and come and dig a grave for you.  

​

Walk right\down, back to the pumpkin house.  The ghoul kids are in

the process of burying a cat.  Poor Kitty.  Use HAMMER AND CHISEL on

coffin to release the cat.  The cat tells you where the real Troll King is

being held, and then gives you an EXTRA LIFE - she still has 8 left.  

​

Go left twice, and down once.  Notice the pile of bones on the left, and

the tree next to it.  Now this bit is a real pain!  You have to pay special

attention to the tree (remember the rhyme the ghoul kids were

singing).  If the branch on the right side of the tree is pointing up, leave

the screen, and return.  If the branch on the right side of the tree is

pointing down, that’s good.  Now when the tree branch is pointing

down, use GRAVEDIGGER’S HORN on yourself, and the gravedigger

will come.  Tell him you want a grave dug right where the pile of bones

is.  After he’s gone, jump down the hole.  

​

There’s a huge coffin here, with a huge padlock.  Click on the padlock to

get a close-up of it.  Notice there are pictures on it.  Now do you

remember the silhouettes you saw on side of the house - skull, bat,

spider?  Click on the same animals here - skull, bat, spider.  The coffin

opens… you’ve found the Troll King!  You freed him.  Yippeeeee! 

​

Uh-oh… you spoke too soon!  Malicia found you, and now you AND the

troll king are trapped in the coffin together.  Show DRAGON TOAD to

the troll king, and then use HAMMER AND CHISEL on the king’s arm

band, to get the jewel that brings DRAGON TOAD to life.  The DRAGON

TOAD digs you both out of the coffin, and you find yourself in a

graveyard.  

​

Watch the cutscene.  Afterwards, you have acquired MAGIC WAND,

and TROLL KING AS SCARAB.  You have to disguise yourself, before

Malicia finds you again, so get the BLACK CLOAK that is fluttering on

the gravestone (left), and use it on yourself.  

​

Walk up to the haunted house, and then knock on the door to enter.

 Talk to Dr Cadaver, and watch the cutscene.  He gives you a

DEFOLIANT.  Now leave the house.  

​

Walk right, and then up.  You started the chapter in this screen, and

you can hear the gravedigger working away, somewhere nearby.  Pick

up SHOVEL, which is leaning against the door.  

​

Head right, and then down, so you are inside another cemetery.  A

plant-monster jumps out at you, so use DEFOLIANT on him, and he

shrivels up and dies.  Click on those Venus Fly Trap plants.  They look

hungry, so give them FOOT IN A BAG to distract them, then take

FRAGRANT FLOWER.  Now continue right, to Malicia’s house. 

​

Click on Malicia’s house, and watch a short cutscene with the troll king

(in scarab form).  Now there’s no way to get in to her house from the

front, so let’s try from the back.  Walk round to back of the house, and

click on the roots at bottom of the wall.  Use SHOVEL on the roots, to

make a hole.  

​

Now this is another frustrating bit.  You are outside the back of the

house.  If you hear the dog barking, head up to front of the house (if

necessary, grab CLOAK from the wall), then return here to back of the

house.  You may have to do this a few times, until the dog isn’t

barking.  When you DON’T hear the dog barking, enter through the

hole you just made.  

​

You are underneath the floorboards in Malicia’s bedroom.  You will

overhear Malicia talking.  Head back down into the floorboards, but her

dog will come and sniff you out - use DEFOLIANT on the dog, and that

will put him off the scent.  When Malicia has left, enter the bedroom.

 Have a look around her room.  Notice the chest of drawers on the

right, next to the door?  Search through the drawers, and keep

searching until you find MYSTERIOUS DEVICE.  Now you hear Malicia

coming back, so quickly put all her clothes back in the drawer.  Pick up

WOLLEN STOCKING, then leave the house through floorboard on the

left.  

​

Get BLACK CLOAK from the wall again, and wear it again.  Now head

up & right, so you are in the haunted forest.  In your inventory, combine

WOLLEN STOCKING with the SILVER PELLET to get a SLING.  Now

walk right, and when the bear jumps out at you, use the SLING on him

to make him run away.  You continue through the haunted forest, and

end up on the other side of the forest, which is much more peaceful.  

​

Walk right twice.  Hmmm, doesn’t this area look familiar?  It should

do - you were here as Valanice in the last chapter.  Cross the rainbow

bridge, and head up to the snoring boulder.  Go left, then up\left to the

gates that lead to Falderal.  

​

Enter through the small door, so you are in the town of Falderal.  Arch

Duke Fifi greets you, and tells you that they arrested your mother here.  


Enter the China Shop (pink door), and talk to Fernandez the bull as

much as you can.  When conversation is over, leave the shop.  

​

Enter Town Hall, and then go through door at back of the room, so you

are at the Escher-staircases.  Walk down stairs to the right, and follow

stairs until you reach door on the right.  Go through door (twice), into

the Hall Of Mirrors.  

​

Look at mirrors for a bit of fun.  Now look at statue on the left, and

look at plaque on the statue, but you can’t read it.  Use WOOLLEN

STOCKING on plaque of the statue, and then look at it to read it.  Exit

the close-up.  

​

Notice pillar on right side of the room, and notice it has golden grapes.

 Use HAMMER AND CHISEL on GOLDEN GRAPES to break off a grape.

 Use GOLDEN GRAPE on statue on the left, and the golden fountain

will reveal the hidden entrance to the underground.  In your inventory,

combine TROLL KING AS SCARAB with the MAGIC WAND, and he will

change back into his troll form.  Follow him through the hidden

entrance, back to the land below.  

​

You land in a tunnel - follow the troll king up through the tunnel, and

then watch the cutscene to end the chapter. 

 

 

 


CHAPTER 5:  NIGHTMARE IN ETHERIA

​

You are Valanice again.  You are in the middle of your trial, and have

been found guilty on all counts.  You have until morning to put the

moon back in the sky!  

​

Talk to the mouse guard if you want, but no matter how much you

protest, he won’t let you leave town!  

​

Enter the China Shop (pink door), and talk to Fernando.  Keep talking

to him, until he doesn’t have anything else to say, then leave the shop. 

​

Try to enter Town Hall, but it’s locked.  Notice tree branch on very-right

of the screen.  Use RUBBER CHICKEN on the tree branch - it almost

looks like a slingshot.  Use MOON on the RUBBER CHICKEN, and the

moon does indeed get catapulted back into the sky.  Arch Duke Fifi

gives you a full pardon.  

​

Walk right, to the pond.  Give MAGIC STATUETTE to merchant in the

sales caravan, and he gives you WERE-BEAST SALVE in return.  In your

inventory, combine JACKALOPE FUR with WERE-BEAST SALVE to get

WERE-BEAST SALVE WITH FUR.  

​

Walk left to the gate, and then go through the gate to leave town (the

mouse guard has gone, now your sentence is lifted).  

​

Outside the town gates, head right twice, and then down.  Cross the

rainbow bridge, and go left.  Attis is here, but just ignore him for now.

 Go left again to the woods.  

​

Use WERE-BEAST SALVE WITH FUR on yourself, and you turn into… a

jackalope!  You race right through the Haunted Forest, and come out

the other side.  

​

You are outside Malicia’s house.  Walk left again, and go through the

gate, to the Pumpkin House.  Don’t try to climb up the spider web.  If

the bucket-lift isn’t here, leave the screen, then return.  When you see

the bucket-lift, enter the lift to go up into Pumpkin House.  

​

Inside the Pumpkin House, there is a mummy on the right.  Get FEMUR

BONE from the mummy, then leave the house.  

​

Walk left to the Haunted House, and knock on the door to enter.  Talk

to Dr Cadaver several times, until he has to leave to make a house call.  

​

Walk left, and then up - a fierce dog will jump out at you.  Give FEMUR

BONE to the dog, and he won’t attack you anymore.  Talk to the dog,

to learn his sad tale - you probably recognise the description of his

mistress.  Talk to him again to get HORSEMAN’S MEDAL.  Continue

talking to the dog, and when he has nothing more to say, go back

down to the Weeping Woman.  

​

If you hadn’t realised, the Weeping Woman is the dog’s mistress.  Give

her HORSEMAN’S MEDAL, and she leaves.  

​

Go right twice, back to the Pumpkin House, and get LIT FIRECRACKER

the ghoul kid dropped.  Go left twice, and use LIT FIRECRAKER on the

crypt where the Weeping Woman was - this might take several

attempts, since the lit firecracker will keep exploding, but persevere.

 Enter the crypt.  Open the sarcophagus, and take HORSEMAN’S

HEAD.  Now leave the crypt.  

​

Outside the crypt, wait for a moment.  As soon as you see the

Headless Horseman, click HORSEMAN’S HEAD on him.  Now watch the

touching cutscene, as the long-cursed family are finally re-united.  The

Horseman gives you his horse, and it takes you to Etheria.  

​

Etheria is a lovely place!  Head right twice, then follow the pathway up

to the top.  Climb the tree, and get AMBROSIA.  Now climb down from

the tree, and follow the path back down to the bottom.  Walk left

once, then go up path to the harp.   

​

Click on strings 1, 5, 6, 4 of the harp, and the crystal on top of the harp

will activate.  Click on the crystal to arrive in the 3 Fates dimension.  

Talk to the Fates twice, and they will tell you to seek out Maab.  Then

they send you back to the harp.  Walk down, and then left.  

​

Use rainbow at bottom-left, to arrive back in Ooga Booga.  Head up

through the gate, so you are outside the Pumpkin House.  Walk left,

and enter Haunted House.  Talk to Dr Cadaver, and then click on the

coffin to enter Dream Land.  Unfortunately, Maab is frozen, and you

automatically wake up again in Dr Cadaver’s house.  Use HORSE-

MAN’S FIFE on yourself to return to Etheria.  

​

Click on rainbow at bottom-right, to travel to the rainbow bridge.  

Cross over the rainbow bridge, click on the giant statue, and use

AMBROSIA on the giant statue’s vase.  Take POMEGRANTE that

appears in the statue’s vase.  Now cross the rainbow bridge again,

and walk left to Attis’s tree.  Talk to Attis.  Now use POMEGRANTE on

the tree, and watch as Lady Ceres is restored, and her curse is broken.

 Lord Attis leaves for Etheria, to do his part in restoring the land.  Talk

to Lady Ceres several times, to tell her that Maab is frozen.  Ceris tells

you, you must enter the Land Of Dreams while you are awake.  Use

HORSEMAN’S FIFE on yourself, to return to Etheria.  

​

Use rainbow at bottom-left, to go back to Ooga Booga.  Go right, and

then up to the back of Malicia’s house.  As before, this section can be a

real pain!  If the dog is barking, walk up, right, left, and up to the back

of the house again.  If the dog is NOT barking, good.  

​

When the dog is not barking, climb through small hole in the wall, to

enter the house.  You’ll hear Malicia coming, so go down into the

floorboards again.  Watch the cutscene.  When she’s gone, climb up

into the room.  Have a look around the room if you want.  Make sure

you look at lamp at bottom-right, and take CRYSTAL SHAFT from the

lamp.  Now use floorboards to leave the house again.  Walk up to front

of the house, then use HORSEMAN’S FIFE on yourself to return to

Etheria.  

​

Click on top-left rainbow to travel to the desert.  Walk up twice, and

then right to the temple.  Enter temple, and use CRYSTAL SHAFT on

the statue, to get CRYSTAL SHAFT WITH SUNLIGHT.  Leave the

temple, and use HORSEMAN’S FIFE on yourself to return to Etheria.  

​

Walk right, and then up the small path to the harp.  Use strings 1, 5, 6,

4 on the harp, and crystal on top of the harp will be activated.  Click on

the crystal to visit the 3 Fates again.  Talk to them, and they tell you to

visit their nephew, then they give you a DREAM CATCHER.  

​

Walk down, right, and then up.  Follow patch all the way to the top,

and then try to enter the cave.  Use DREAM CATCHER on the monster

to capture it.  Now enter cave and talk to the Dream Weaver.  Talk to

him again, but he refuses to help you.  Give him DREAM CATCHER, but

he still isn’t interested in helping you.  It’s only when he learns his

sister is missing, that he has a change of heart.  He gives you

TAPESTRY OF DREAMS, and tells you to hurry and save his sister.  

​

Use TAPESTRY OF DREAMS on yourself to enter Dream Land, and

quickly use DREAM CATCHER on the nightmare to release your current

nightmare and watch them destroy each other.  

​

Walk down (just like in your dream), and enter the temple.  Use

CRYSTAL SHAFT WITH SUNLIGHT with the ice crystal to melt it, and

free Maab.  Maab gives you a MAGIC BRIDLE, and then send you back

to Etheria.  

​

Walk up the path, right to the top, and then walk behind left side of

the cave.  When the ghost horse appears, use MAGIC BRIDLE on it.  

Now watch a lengthy cutscene to end the chapter.  

​

​

 


CHAPTER 6:  READY, SET… BOOM!

​

You’re Rosella again.  Both Troll Kings (the real king, and the impostor)

are fighting it out.  Click MAGIC WAND on the eye, to get  better look

at it.  Rotate MAGIC WAND, until you see the letter ‘T’ at the top.  Now

rotate MAGIC WAND so you can see the entire wand standing upright.

 Hover over the base of it, and it will sparkle.  Click on the base, and this

will change the ‘T’ into an ‘F’.  Now use MAGIC WAND on troll with the

green eyes (the one that gets thrown towards you), and he will

transform into… Edgar (from KQ4).  

​

When you’re inside the volcano, use SHOVEL on the wall, to escape.

 Walk up through the tunnel, so you are at the statue head.  If you

didn’t get the FRAGRANT FLOWER from the Venus Fly Trap plants

before, you have another chance now - use SHOVEL on rock under the

window, then click on rock to climb it, and then pick up FRAGRANT

FLOWER.  Now press left eye, then right eye, then nose to open the

door.  You are now back with the real Troll King, who is unconscious.

 Use MYSTERIOUS DEVICE on plug socket next to the troll king.  Use

FRAGRANT FLOWER on the troll king to bring him round.  Watch a

cutscene.  Now take MYSTERIOUS DEVICE from the plug socket, and

use it on Malicia.  Wow, Malicia has turned into a baby!  QUICKLY, use

EXTRA LIFE on Edgar, to bring him back to life.  

​

 

Now sit back, and enjoy the ending.  Congratulations Rosella and

Valanice.
